I Remember Gamble Contest
Sunday, April 12th, at 3:45PM at Gamble’s Living Room Stage

We are pleased to announce that the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival will once again be hosting the “I Remember Gamble Contest”, which is dedicated to the memory and legacy of St. Augustine’s favorite son, Gamble Rogers.
The contest will be held on Sunday, April 12th, at 3:45PM at Gamble’s Living Room Stage.
If you knew Gamble, grew up listening to his wonderful songs and stories, or are just learning about him and his music, you are welcome to participate. Tell a story of meeting him or how he impacted your life, or perform a song or a stage story of his that has inspired you. If you don’t know Gamble’s music, we encourage you to explore it, listen, and choose a song or story to perform or write your own song in Gamble’s style.
Contestants will sign up at the Check-In Tent on the day of the contest, and all are welcome to enter except past winners. Performances will be limited to approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on the number of participants. Performances will be judged by a panel of three judges, with an emphasis on creativity, originality, and connection to Gamble’s legacy. Gamble’s music, original songs, and guitar picking will carry more weight than stories about meeting him, and judges will award points at their discretion.
A total of $850 in prize money will be awarded to the top three performers, generously provided by Gamble’s agent and friend, Charles Steadham, and his wife Mary.
Prizes include $450 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place.
